The sword on my wall,
The mark of the otaku.
I'm now a true geek.
Though only plastic,
A Halloween costume prop,
A sword, it remains.
The status symbol
Of the nerdly pinnacle,
The height of geekness.
A greater effect
Even than the Post-It Notes,
The notecards and tacks,
The Sims advert leaf,
The crash dummy that I drew,
Violin keychain,
Mario pictures,
Tacks placed in star shape patterns,
Passwords on notecards.
The geekish icon,
Which nothing can hope to match.
Straight out of cosplay.
Cost but seven quid,
Still, I wrote haiku for it.
The sword on my wall.
